My first exhibit this year was installed for August and September, a photography show entitled Trace. My intention for the name of this show was to simply indicate a tiny portion of a larger story. One guest said to me the images are about memories.
My work is in an alcove off the main exhibit space, and I am honored to be showing with a fellow studio member at Running with Scissors, Bob Nason.
Go see the show. Bob’s paintings are the centerpiece of the exhibit with about 55 works, including sculpture. His work extends many decades to unveil a level of depth and experience only dedication can provide.
Bob’s paintings are a venture into color and form. They are an exploration of how elements can occur in harmony or can collide within the space of their existence. And though he dismisses any discussion of symbolism, each of us will be compelled to bring our own story to his work.
David McCaskill also has photographs on exhibit. For this show, his creative compositions capture extraordinary light on everyday environments and offers us an opportunity to refocus awareness to our daily routines.
The show is curated by Martha LaMarche FineArt 511 in partnership with a business at 511 Congress Street, Portland Maine (directly across from Port City Music Hall).
The images below are part of my exhibit through September.
And also on exhibit is the start of my fruit and flower series:
